The team at Rainclear Systems were superb to work with.  I worked closely and regularly with a number of members of staff, with them using me as their ‘Marketing Department’ and involving me fully in the business to ensure that I had the very best understanding of their challenges, priorities and plans.  Daniel Hopkins, their MD before he sold the company, kindly sums up my role and involvement below.

I was MD at Rainclear Systems from May 2004 to May 2014. I worked with Nicky Ward daily on planning and implementing the marketing strategy for Rainclear Systems from early 2012 to mid 2014.

Nicky initially helped me develop an effective marketing strategy with realistic time frames that enabled the business to both plan and also accurately budget. She constantly and cleverly introduced other suggestions and tangible ideas when the time was right allowing Rainclear to grow quickly in many areas that had previously been untapped. She managed a range of 3rd parties for us – web developers, PPC & SEO teams, media and advertising contacts, trade organisations, promotional goods suppliers as well as liaising with our freelance designer to ensure the marketing was all ‘joined up’ on a monthly basis. With Nicky’s influence and copywriting skills we created content and grew our e shot database from 3,000 to 50,000 and Nicky managed the partnership with our e shot provider flawlessly as the business continued to grow.

We formed a very strong business relationship which worked extremely well as she is an effective communicator at all levels and together we managed never to miss some very testing deadlines. Nicky was renumerated for an amount of days worked each week but I know there were many occasions due to the marketing demands that she worked above and beyond her hours without complaint. As a 3rd party person sometimes you can feel disconnected with a team based elsewhere, this wasn’t the case with Nicky, you immediately felt she was part of the senior team who had a hunger to learn the business from the ground up.

As an MD you want your staff to add value at all times and without doubt Nicky added an incredible amount of value in a relatively short space of time – she gives 100%. The only reason we stopped working together was because I sold the business and the new PLC owners and I decided to pursue other interests. Put simply I would recommend her unreservedly for any marketing requirements that you have.”
